Introduction

It was a perfect morning to run a 5k as the temperatures went from 30 degrees Monday morning to 60 degrees on this Wednesday morning. The PAX arrived early to stretch & Woody & Happy Camper arrived in their trucks for the coupon painting service (yes it is a real thing; Woody is a full service “Culture Q”).  Pawn Star showed up with the official timer so Vern would not cheat on his time:)  Directions were given on the route & the PAX quickly got to work.

CoT:

Today I wanted to talk to you about gratitude.  If you have been to a Five Putt CoT he talks about this a lot.  Did you know that the saying “Thank You” is one of a few universal sayings in every language & it is b/c gratitude is universal & crosses all boundaries.  Gratitude is the glue of relationships.  It can make an employee feel recognized, a friend feel cared about & in life can bring joy to chaos.  This past Thurs-Sun my wife was out of town & I got to spend the entire time with my kids solo parenting.  I will admit I was dreading it at first but after the few days of home schooling, corn mazing, pumpkin picking, & ice cream eating I had a sense of gratitude.  A gratitude that I got to create those moments with my kids & a greater gratitude for the job my wife does on a daily basis.  In a chaotic world this gratitude brought me joy.  Also remember to give gratitude to those that have sacrificed everything like our F3 brother Hightower who tragically lost his life in the line of duty this past weekend.  Try to remember that throughout your days when you become frustrated, angry, depressed.  Find those things to have gratitude & embrace those to change your mind set.  Aye!

Dear lord, thank you for this opportunity to wake up early in the gloom & experience your greatness.  We are humbled for the opportunity you give us every day to be in your glory & serve you as leaders in our communities.  Watch over those in our spoken prayers as well as those that are in our hearts that are not as fortunate as many of us & give them healing & strength in their struggles.  In your name we pray.  Amen!
