Introduction

Back in November when, I signed up for this Q, I thought it would be fun to Q both the EOP and The 7:00 Black Panther to celebrate my 48th Birthday.  At the time it sounded good, but I did not anticipate that the temperatures would be zero to sub zero with the wind chill.  The week leading up to the Q, I made modifications to my workout, to try and keep the PAX dry and to make sure I inserted more movement throughout the workout to keep the blood flowing.  The week leading up to the Q, it snowed multiple times, so I headed over to the parking lot the day before the Q to check out the scene.  The normal Black Panther  parking lot was a mess, with ice everywhere.  I headed over to the adjacent lot in front of the school and it was much better, with only a few small spots with ice.  This is the better of the 2 options so this is where we will do our Thangs.  That night I laid out my clothes for the EOP workout as well as a change of shirts for the later Black Panther Q.  I got some new tunes loaded to the playlist and headed to bed.

Morning came early, I printed out my agenda for the day, headed to EOP and Q’d that workout.  I then headed home for a quick change of tops to help stay warm before jumping back in the car and heading out west to BP.  The EOP cold drained my phone so BP will be without music unfortunately.  I thought about reaching out to Pork Rinds for some music, but thought he would be out on his EC run, so I did not bother.  As I made my way to BP waiting to turn left at the light in front of the school, I saw Pork Rinds and Parks and Rec out on their EC run.  Impressive!  I pulled into the lot with 5 minutes to spare.  I grabbed my coupon and the sleds and headed to the flags. Cars continued to flood the parking lot as 5:15 hit.  Enron arrived early, and Elway came in hot and joined in on the capri lap.

Naked Man Moleskin

Surprisingly, it was not as cold as I was anticipating.  Don’t get me wrong it was cold, but I could at least still feel my feet and fingers – where I have been to some Q’s where that was not the case.  It was great to see 10 other PAX getting after it and continuing to accelerate – not letting the cold slow them down.

I was hoping to get in some more sled runs today, but time ran short.  I don’t think the snow is going anywhere anytime soon, so I guess it is time to get back on the Q sheet and make this happen.

Thanks to all that came out and helped me kick off my birthday!  Happy Birthday to Lewinsky as well.

Coffeeteria was had at the Village Grind, with 100% participation.  Topics covered at the tall table included:  Super Bowl, Super Bowl Commercials, Can Ceiling Lights, Flooring Install, and how one home project turns into another and another….

As always, continue to get up, lace up, show up, and never give up.
