Introduction

I showed up early with my headlight to place cones .1 mile apart to form the loop for the first Thang. It was dark and foggy in the corners of the Colosseum, and I kept waiting the get attacked by a wild animal out there. Luckily I made it through unscathed with plenty of time to spare.

Circle of Trust

We are coming off F3 Crossroads’ first major Third F event from the weekend, the Honor Q Ruck. There were lots of great stories that came out of the event. One reminded me of a story from my past. In college I worked in a restaurant with several of my friends. One slow day my buddy was working on an assignment from his accounting class and he just wasn’t grasping the concept. I had a few accounting classes under my belt so I sat down and tried to put the lesson in layman’s terms. We talked for a few minutes and I went on with my day. This was not a profound moment in my life. Fast forward a decade later, and that same buddy of mine reminded me of that day I helped him out with his lesson. Those 5 minutes we talked were the boost he needed, and he eventually went on to become a CPA.

Oftentimes it is the small things that are done unknowingly and freely that have the largest impacts on others. I have been on both sides of these situations, and having people support me throughout my life has been a huge blessing.

Our man Skinner exemplified what F3 is all about this weekend. He served as Site Q for Dilly Dilly’s Team 1 and provided encouragement for a woman on the team that had recently started her fitness journey. Skinner stayed with her the entire 9 miles and helped her complete a monumental task. I am sure that woman will be singing the praises of F3 after the impact Skinner had on her.

This is what F3 is all about. Leading by example and making a lasting impact on other’s lives.

Naked Man Moleskin

This morning was going great. The group was racing from station to station and we were making great time. Halfway through our second lap around the cones, I pulled my hamstring. This was disappointing because I wanted to continue to lead the men through a tough workout. Thankfully Gopher had my back and took the lead the rest of the way. I am grateful to have had him as my site Q.
