Introduction

It’s been a long time since YHC has been on Q for a run club. Saw this one a couple weeks ago, grabbed it and started thinking about what to do. Of course – we are thawed out now, so instead, the plan was to stick to the trails and log a few miles.

We’ll take advantage of what should be ice-free paths and get a loop around the lake in.
If you’re doing the Patriot Challenge, this is a good opportunity to log miles.
If you’re wanting a recovery run to stretch your legs, this is good for you.
If you want to strap a ruck on and walk under some weight, that works too.

HC in the thread, and let’s goooo!

HCs rolled in and it looked like a good crew this morning – mostly runners and a couple ruckers.

5:15 rolled around, core principles were shared, disclaimer was given, quick raise of hands to see who had cell phones, who knew CPR and where an AED was.

Off we went

Warm-O-Rama

20 SSH in Cadence

10 Tappy Taps in Cadence

30 or so seconds to stretch what needed it. Pax were reminded about the route, most were familiar with the lake loop, so we were good.

Off we went!

The Thang

Run until 5:55.

Circle of Trust

The Q point last week was in order to lead others, a man must first get right. YHC struggles with perfection being the enemy of progress. What this means is I’m never really “right”. I shouldn’t let this stop me from leading. Keep getting right and lead when it’s appropriate.

Aye

Prayers were said – special intentions for Sunny Bono’s 2.0, Judge Smails 2.0, Stand Ups M, Laimbeer and his 2.0.

Naked Man Moleskin

YHC will hopefully have an opportunity to lead a run club when the trails are crap. There is an idea I want to try that should mix it up and keep us safe. If there isn’t an opportunity this winter – a dry day this summer will have to do…

YHC was surprised to see 22 pax out there today. Solid crew.

Thanks Carnival for the quick get to know you.

Today was a bit of a recovery after BD yesterday – still, it was a shot to the pride when Rain Man flew past me with a weighted vest, then grabbed a sand bag to run with in the parking lot. He’s badass.

Seems like there are more and more ruckers out there. YHC should find ways to challenge ruckers a bit too… More to come…
