Introduction
Today we (Great Clips, Fathom, Speedo, Conners, Frank N’Beans, and McDowell) paid homage to the great Chicago athletes by honoring their jersey numbers.
Warm-O-Rama
We began by celebrating our newest hero, Justin Fields #1, with a 1 mile run including scaling Mt Reimer (RIP Sweetness).
The Thang
We set up a baseball diamond at base camp with dry erase boards and began at home base with coupons, ran to first base to complete the exercise there and continued circling the bases 3 times.

On a personal level, every father has an opportunity to be a storyteller to their kids…literally on a nightly basis. As you say good night to your young ones, you have the opportunity to tell a story: create a character who is faced with a problem, and then meets a guide who helps give the character a plan to call them into action, then ends in success(or avoids failure). A great story instills trust, relatability, makes a connection and calls listeners to action.
We ended with an Irish Blessing.

Welcome to FNG – Frank N’ Beans! McDowell’s brother and a fine addition to Base Camp.
We had some great banter today about a couple of high school kids trying to hook up on top of the mountain to watch a peaceful sunrise wrapped in blankets. Instead, they had 6 grown men charging up a hill and showing them how to get 6 pack abs. Pretty sure we ruined a teenage makeout session. There is a Dad out there that owes us for that distraction!
