Circle of Trust

Sail the Right Ships

Loosely based on the 12 ways to have winning relationships by Brian Cain, Mental Performance Coach, I wanted to focus on three types of ships we encounter in our daily lives. Here is my interpretation of these three tenets:

  • RelationSHIPS:
    • As HIMs, it’s important to connect with other people, build trust through mutual interests and strive to maintain those relationships. A 2-way street, be around people that will make you thrive and feel alive.
    • Put into practice: Apply this to your daily F3 fellow PAX encounters. I haven’t met many of you, but I’d like to meet you. Let’s chat. Continue to attend coffeeteria or set up a Zoom happy hour with clients and/or colleagues.
  • LeaderSHIP:
    • Anything that involves action without prompting: Integrity; Initiative.
    • Put into practice: There are many ways to lead and it can be as simple as giving praise or appreciation for a fellow PAX, being genuinely interested in a colleague or leading a Q. That homebound services group is on fire [insert flame emojis here].
  • MentorSHIP:
    • Are you serving others? What will your legacy be? How will you guide your children, colleagues or fellow PAX to be the best version of themselves?
    • Put into practice: Turn, “if you need me” into “let me know when you start planning your VQ so I can help make it easier”. Be proactive about helping someone with planning their VQ.

Today, Ebeneezer and I got an opportunity to directly work with Smooth Criminal on his first day at the Iron Lion office. As he came in as an FNG, I’m hopeful that one day he gets an opportunity to have the same experience.

Naked Man Moleskin

Cinnamon doesn’t appear in the PAX search. Can we fix that?
