Introduction

As I woke up this morning & stepped out my door to the gloom I was surprised by a winter wonderland with a full covering of snow on the ground & flurries still coming strong.  Lucky for the PAX on there way to the beat down my workout already consisted of a beat down in the Pavilion.  As the PAX came rolling in stories of cars in the ditches were told but all HIMs powered through to get to The Ridge with no fartsacks.

A beat down focused on a message of SIMPLIFYING required each PAX to complete 1000 reps OYO of 5 different exercises…”You Against The Man In The Mirror”.  Dilly Dilly’s new speaker blarred the tuneage as the PAX battled through the 1000 reps with srtrong accountability at the end with certain PAX picking up the 6 of other PAX that needed some extra reps.

A round of “Sally” during MARY closed to workout before the PAX enjoyed some outdoor coffeteria.  The (b)Ridge HIM live by not only the principle of “workouts no matter the weather conditions” but also “coffeteria no matter the weather conditions”.

THANG 1 – 1000 rep OYO workout

Each PAX will be required to complete the following exercises OYO focusing on form.  When a PAX completes all reps they can help the 6 by completing reps for them:

  • Burpees – 100
  • Squats – 300
  • Merkins – 200
  • LBC’s – 200
  • Dips – 200

  • You saw in my pre-blast I talked about SIMPLIFYING. In a busy world with so much going on it is easy to complicate life.  As strong HIM we probably have many things we want to accomplish in the new year but as I have found through my personal & professional life is if you over extend your commitments you end up doing everything okay vs. focusing on a couple things to be great at.  My mission in 2020 is to be a better male leader for my family & those I interact with.  I break that down into quarterly commitments with Q1 focused on 1. No technology from 5 to 8 PM to be a great engaged father/husband; 2. Planning 1 date night every month for my M & me to be great in my marriage; 3. Q’ing 2 times per month in F3 to be a great male leader to my peers.  These are 3 simple goals but will make me a great male leader, a role model & have a greater impact if I do those things great.  I Challenge you to take one last look at your goals for the new year & ask yourself if you can accomplish everything on your list & do it great.  If not readjust & publicly state your goals to someone verbally or printed & have them hold you accountable.

  • Let us pray. Dear God we know everything starts with you & we serve you. You show us the impossible can be accomplished & there is nothing you cannot do.  We believe that you journey with us & always have our best in mind being trustworthy & faithful to us.  In your son’s name we pray.  Amen!
