Introduction

Please kindly consider this your formal invite to join YHC ITG tomorrow. We will be exploring the space as if we were beating on a cowbell. Bring those coupons and kindly HC below.

I need to work on my Preblast game. This one felt a bit rushed, but still drew an awesome group.

Warm-O-Rama

Smurf Jacks x 20 IC

Arm Circles thumbs up forward, thumbs down backwards x 15 IC

Good Mornings x 10 IC

Ultimate Stretch and reviewed the plan with the PAX.

The Thang

Thang 1 – Agility Time
Quick mosey with coupons from parking lot to soccer field.

Fire hose agility drills as follows:

In and out – 2 feet over hose moving vertically up the hose

L/R up and back moving laterally up the hose

In/Out – 2 feet hitting the hose

In/Out two feet bunny hops up the hose

Each movement was followed by these lifts:

Single arm should press x 15 (I think) IC

Single arm coupon rows x 20 L/R IC

Coupon curls x 50 IC

Bent over rows x 40 IC

Thang 2 – Welcome to the Hill

Mosey from soccer fields to the backside of the hill with coupons (direct route).

Coupon toss + blockies.  Throw the coupon up the hill and run down to the base.  Every time the coupon was touched, an additional blockie was added.

I had planned on doing a set of 11’s from here, but I wanted to keep our small group together, so the rest was improvised.  We did the following (in no particular order) up the hill:

Vertical murder bunnies up the hill x 2

Coupon toss up the hill x one hand with bear crawl

Coupon toss up the hill – two hands

Fire brigade coupon pass + burpees x 2

The above was followed by Rocky Balboa’s x 1 minute, squats to vertical coupon x 20, Lion Kings x 15 IC, derkins on bench (two at a time while rest of PAX held Al Gore), incline press on bench (two at a time while rest of PAX held Al Gore) X 15 and 20 IC respectively, finger tip merkins IC x 15 and regular merkins x 20 IC

Time moved fast (at least for me) at the Bear today.  Coupon mosey back to the flags.  PAX did SSH’s while we waited for the six.

Mary

Scissor kicks x 40 IC

Ring of fire that turned into merkin of fire x 3 rounds

AH x 25 IC

LBC’s x 50 IC until time was called.

Circle of Trust

I recently ended up purchasing two used snowmobiles. The first seller refused money down to secure the sleds he had for sale and sold them out from under me. I had driven an hour south of Chicago to view the sleds and had made a gentlemen’s agreement with the seller that the sleds were mine. The second sled was being purchased for my dad by me and my sister, so I was devastated when I received this news from the seller. I felt betrayed. I sheepishly went back to my father and told him that the deal had fallen apart. Wisely, my dad told me that this man had actually done me a favor. “If this man’s word is so weak, what type of condition where the sleds really in? I’m guessing not the same as he advertised.”

Fast forward a week later. I had closed a deal with a dealership for my dad’s sled and the transaction went very well. It was now time to go hunting for the second sled. That’s how I met Robert. I’ll call him by name b/c he has earned my respect forevermore. Robert lives in central Wisconsin. There was no way that I would be able to see the sled prior to making an offer. I made another gentlemen’s agreement to purchase his sled based off of pictures and messages exchanged. Then, came the next message. Robert told me there was a buyer in play that could pick up the sleds the same day. I jokingly told Robert that my money smelled better than the other possible buyer. We chatted live, exchanged stories, and I wired him half the price of the sled based off the confidence I had in his word.

I arrived at Robert’s residence with my dad three days later with a trailer to grab the sled. I learned more about him prior to our arrival and me wiring the initial payment. Robert was a police officer and was a 3RdF guy. Robert was also 20yrs my junior and had talked to his dad to seek advice about selling his sled. When I arrived, Robert tossed in a bunch of stuff with the sled. Extra skis, cover and other accessories. I instantly wanted to give him more money. I wanted to pay him more for holding true to his word rather than for the additional items. Here came some more fatherly advice. “Simply make the offer and allow him to make the decision.  Better to do this, than make him feel like you are questions his word and the original deal.” Guess what? Robert did not take an extra penny after the deal was made and held true to his word.

I simply ask all of you to think about what your word is worth to you.

Naked Man Moleskin

I am not perfect.  I always fear the possibility of the microscope lens being flipped on me to expose the failures in my life.  My COT was drawn from an experience I had that certainly made me pause.  I felt it was worth sharing and was not meant to be a call out of anyone.

Today was the smallest group I’ve ever Q’d and it was great!

Yugo, back to back!  Way to start hot!!

Dorn, thanks for breaking out your phone, being the warrior, you are, and for offering up the tiniest speaker when mine failed.

Cage Free, you’re sneaky brother.  Nice work today!

Cowboy can whip a coupon with alternating hands up the backside of The Bear hill in 5 tosses.  I know, because it took me six tosses.

Bluto, you remind me of Tom Waddle.  You’ll sacrifice your body on every play regardless of the cost.

Chazz, what is there to say?  Just live and lead.  You’ve got the bug.  Bring it home!

Buttermaker, any HC from you is like winning the lottery.  We’ve been together since the beginning and you are a rock!
