It’s time to wrap up this last week before Christmas in STYLE! It’s gonna get LIT tomorrow at The Ridge! 0630 is Go Time and we’re gonna GOOOOOOO for an hour. Full body Smokefest is on the docket. Come on out and #GetSome on a beautiful Saturday morning!! For the sake of fun, bring your couponz. LFG

Warm-O-Rama

SSH’s IC x 50

High Plank, Knee to Same Elbow IC x 10/Leg

Tappy Taps IC x 20

Lunge w/ Oblique Twists IC x 10/Leg

The Thang

Thang 1: POAS (Pearls On A String)

It’s a 1.5 mile loop around all of Grande Park’s outer path. We ran all of it and stopped along the way for the following

Stop 1 (at trail intersection): High Plank x 60 sec + Copperhead Squats IC x 50

Stop 2 (at the far mini-lot): Partner Wheelbarrows approx 50 yds (Bear Crawl or Lunge Walks were Modifications) + Copperhead Squats IC x 40

Stop 3 (at trail intersection): Partner High-Five Merkins x 50 + Copperhead Squats IC x 30

Original plan was to retrace our steps back around with 3 more stops, but time was not on our side so off we went to reunite with our Coupons at the Flags.

Thang 2: DORA (over-sized and in reverse order)

Exercises w/ Coupons: 400 Bench Presses, 300 Curls, 200 Bent-Over Rows, (100 Squat Thrusters but no one got to those). Partner ran down and around the round-about and back. Picked a shorter run distance since we had already logged some decent mileage during Thang 1.

5 Minutes of Mary: BBSU’s IC x 25, LBC’s IC x 40, Copperhead Squats IC x 10 (just wanted the Pax to do more of these lol), High Plank x 60 seconds

Circle of Trust

I don’t often go overly spiritual in my CoT’s. I go to weekly Mass about twice a month or so. But was at Mass a few weeks ago and during the homily pulled my phone out and started taking some notes as it was a message that just resonated with me at that moment.

Jesus said: “Pick up your crosses daily and follow me.” Jesus never guaranteed that life would be easy. He actually guarantees the opposite. One piece of advice from Jesus: “Everything around you will be pure chaos. Focus on Me.” Life is chaotic and if it’s not currently for you, hold on it’s coming. Chaos comes in all shapes and sizes and can hit us in many ways. Our jobs. The health of our family and loved ones. Close family relationships. Death of someone close to us. Our own impending death. These can all be states of chaos. Jesus tells us this ahead of time – not to scare us but to prepare us. It was just interesting to think about it that way. Life isn’t easy. No one is telling us it is easy. So why do we get so out of whack when it’s difficult? As Jesus said, “Focus on Me.”

When you’re amidst chaos, what do you focus on? Maybe it’s Jesus. Maybe it’s not! Maybe it’s working out. Maybe it’s family time. Maybe it’s a podcast. Maybe it’s drinking alcohol or other vices, which may numb the pain for the moment (or maybe makes things worse) but is just momentary and fleeting. The pain or chaos will be there waiting. Whatever it is or isn’t, why don’t we try and make it something positive and reassuring. Something which will keep you in a state of acceleration and growth that combats the chaos and can allow you to keep moving forward in an impactful way and remain a HIM for your family, friends, colleagues, all those around you.

Naked Man Moleskin

A half-dozen Pax came out for an EC Run – #TClaps to TPS Report, Dilly Dilly, Vern, Captain Underpants, Roach Coach, and myself.

We moved around a lot this morning and did a few exercises to failure and hopefully all Pax found themselves at a breaking point (or two) and found it in themselves to keep working, keep crawling, keep pushing to the finish. Everyone finished each Thang, no one got hurt, and hopefully all left with a little swagger in their step for how they started their Saturday!
