Introduction

Extra gloomy gloom filled the lot at the ole OP…wintry mix as PAX piled in. Snoop looked to be first on the scene to plant the flag as YHC came in from a .5 mile EC run to put some lit cones out in East field.

I asked PAX to bring sandbags or a coupon, all-terrain shoes and a warrior mindset.

We circled with some Dr. Feelgood til about 5:14 then started to get our minds right…

Circle of Trust

It’s been a blast serving as your 1st F Q for F3 Naperville…

I have 2 quotes, plenty to thank, and some stories to leave you with…

1st F QUOTE #1

“When we started this band

All we needed, needed was a laugh

Years gone by, I’d say we’ve kicked some ass

When I’m enraged or hittin’ the stage

Adrenaline rushing through my veins

And I’d say we’re still kickin’ ass” –Motley Crue, Kickstart My Heart

I share this quote as it reminds me of the journey I’ve been a part of here at F3 Naperville and how many begin here as well. Thank YOU, thank you all for continuing to make it happen. I’ve been here 3 years and a lot of growth has taken place for me individually and more importantly, for many other PAX in many other places within F3.

Again, thank you…especially to our leadership team, Baby Hands for making the call to me to offer an opportunity to lead in a different way, WetWipe for passing the torch and many, MANY others. I can go on and on about the impact YOU all make. And I’m PUMPED to see what Parks, Columbus, and Unplugged do for 1st F ahead. Tclaps boys!!!

We did a lot in the last year. From record numbers during Lincoln Games, a new 4th of July shovel flag, a Summer Slam of CSAUPS, F324, a Shield-Locked Scrooged, to empowering the Site Q’s and Site Q Champions, to creating a more detailed Emergency Action Plan and much, MUCH more…lot of little things that again, I can go on and on.

Personally, this last year has been one of the MOST transformational years of my life…

  • I lost my job of 13 years but got a new job
  • I sold my old house and bought a new house
  • I got officially divorced and got a new family that includes a new wife I’ll tie the knot with come this October…

This was major change in my world so taking on something more didn’t seem like it was the right time. Until it was. It was time to give back to F3 as F3 has given so much to me.

I feel lucky to have been a part of it and I hope you all took something away…there’s a warrior leader mentality built into the fabric of F3 and specifically F3 Naperville…I’d like to speak on that for a few minutes…

WARRIOR LEADER STORIES

I was out in Salt Lake City the last few days as I work for Qualtrics, an experience management company. Think about that…

Ryan Reynolds, Martha Stewart, Chip and Joanna Gaines and gold medalist Shaun White were there to speak to 10,000 people or so. It was a big event. Even TPS Report was there. Remember him? 🙂

And on the last day, the company had to announce Ryan Reynolds would not be there due to COVID and you could hear the crowd moan…my initial thought is well that’s tough news but not really…

  • Tough news is losing your job…
  • Tough news is your M leaving you…
  • Tough news is being told you have cancer or another medical set back…

There are things we can not control however when tough news arrives…who is going to rise???

I’ll tell you who…the warrior leader.

Before Salt Lake City this week, I spent the weekend w my M in the mountains of Sedona. It’s a mystical place where you can experience the power of a vortex energy that can enlighten your soul.

When I stood on the peaks of the mountains of Sedona I could feel something speaking to me from the vortex…

  • I could better feel the love and connection between my M and I…
  • I could better feel the clarity in my missionality as a parent
  • And as the crisp 4,000ft breeze crossed my face while I stared out into the vast valley’s between the mountains, I could feel the reminder that this land has and needs more warrior leaders

As men of F3…remember this is an organization of leaders. You are here with me today and you are that warrior leader.

As am I.

Back to the conference in Salt Lake City…

  • Martha Stewart shared how we are in the age of influence…as warrior leaders who do we influence?
  • Chip and Joanna Gaines shared how instead of dividing when adversity comes they unite…as warrior leaders, how can we bring more people together?
  • Shaun White shared how he battled back from an injury to win his 3rd gold medal. He was on top of his last half pipe run, thinking of how everything can go wrong, admitting he’s human. But when he put those goggles down over his eyes, he started to think about everything that could go Right. As warrior leaders, how prepared are we to enter into life’s battles? As warrior leaders how can we activate and kickstart the courage from our heart?

A warrior leader when called upon rises, steps up, and goes ALL-IN.

And here we are in the gloom. Here to Get Right, Live Right, Lead Right and Leave Right. We are preparing for the moments when it’s time to go all in. I love to joke around and have fun but make no mistake…I HAVE A SWITCH…that switch is very much amplified by the powered of F3…and when it’s time to rise, I am that warrior leader…as are you.

I meant to mention this in the gloom and feel it’s important to add here…

Getting Swole is not about building big muscles…it’s about stepping up to the plate and doing something bigger and greater than yourself…

Freed to lead is not doing whatever you want…it’s about doing what’s right to help others…

1st F QUOTE #2

I’ll close with a quote from another warrior leader

“The warrior, for us, is one who sacrifices himself for the good of others. His task is to take care of the elderly, the defenseless, those who cannot provide for themselves, and above all, the children – the future of humanity.” -Chief Sitting Bull of the Fighting Sioux Tribe

Sitting Bull was talking about that 43ft man. He was a true warrior leader…with a vision.

When you practice what we practice and take that daily red pill…

You live that warrior leader life.

Keep leading that 43ft ahead fellas because if not us, then who?
