Introduction

Introduction

After you’ve finished celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, come out to the Iron Lion for my VQ to recover from all that fun!

We’ll spend most of our time on the pavement, but will venture onto the football field for at least a little work. Bring your coupons and HC in the thread.

Scene

When I arrived on the scene it was cold and very windy, but the rain had stopped. I checked out the football field and determined that it would be too wet to include in the workout so we’d have to modify. PAX began arriving shortly after 5 ready to go!

Circle of Trust

I audibled here. In anticipation of my VQ, I woke up multiple times worried that I might oversleep and felt the desire to take this in a different direction. When I was growing up, I was taught to always plan for the future. However, as I planned for the future, I often overlooked the what was happening in the present. Then, two months after my oldest son was born, just after Thanksgiving in 2009, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Fortunately, it was treatable and I’ve been in remission for almost 11 years; however, it made me look differently at my priorities. Since then, I have shifted my focus to finding balance between enjoying the present while being mindful of the future. That’s the message that I want to impart to everyone – it’s important to find balance between the enjoying the moment and planning for the future.

We ended with a prayer.

Naked Man Moleskin

Thanks to all the PAX that supported and encouraged me at my VQ, even though the conditions were pretty rough this morning and we’re all tired of the cold!  Where’s Spring?!

I also want to give a callout to Nacho Libre who invited me to my first workout back in February 2020. Unfortunately, Covid struck 7 weeks after my first post and I only posted sporadically for the remainder of 2020, but he continued to get in my ear until I started posting regularly again in January.
