The Thang

First three Innings (4 minutes each inning)

1st Inning – Complete 25 curls, run the bases – repeat for as many as possible within 4 minutes. Each time you touch home you get a run for your team.

2nd Inning – Line up against the fence. QC throws the balls to the outfield. On my mark/go, the teams run to the balls, collect as many as possible as a team, and touch the cone in center field and run back to the fence. The team that gets back to the fence first gets 2 runs, and the team with the most balls gets 4 runs.

3rd Inning – Complete 25 Goblet squats, run the bases – repeat for as many as possible within 4 minutes. Each time you touch home you get a run for your team.

4th Inning – For one team at a time, each player gets a ball, stands behind home and has to fire it down to 2nd. If I catch the ball without having to leave the bag, the player gets a run. If I have to step off the bag, the player gets zero runs. (other team holds plank throughout).

5th Inning – Complete 25 Big Boy Situps, run the bases – repeat for as many as possible within 4 minutes. Each time you touch home you get a run for your team.

6th Inning – Head to head style. One player (P1) from one team bats, while the player for the other team (P2) stands at 2nd base. P1 hits the ball and attempts to run the bases and get to home plate. P2 has to go get the ball and run it back to 2nd base before P1 touches home. Whichever player reaches their base first gets a run. Ball has to stay in bounds. Rest of the teams do squats, imperial walkers, planks, etc. while waiting their turn.

After 6 innings, team 2 (Cubs) came out on top with 86 runs to 69.

Circle of Trust

At F3 everyone man is freed to lead, but it took me a while to get to a place that I felt comfortable stepping up to Q a workout. Like anything, the first time you do it you’re a little nervous and you want it go well, and you get out there and you screw it up anyway, but that’s ok because you got a bunch of men there that have been there and support you through it. Then you get back on the horse and do it again and it gets better and easier every time and for some of us gets us out of our comfort zone in all the right ways and we grow from it. For most things in life, it’s that simple. You just need to take the first step, and that’s what I encourage all of us to consider today and think about those opportunities that are before us to lead and grow and to determine what that first step is and take it. Don’t keep putting it off or talk yourself out of it, just do it. You can’t do anything in this life of significance without taking the first step.
Lord, we thank you for this day and the opportunity to get out and share in fitness, fellowship, and faith with this group of men and I pray that we’ll all consider what next steps we need to take in life and move to action on them. We ask that you lift up our friend Mr. Myagi with his battle against cancer, and that you would with Crabgrass and his family as they continue to process the loss of his brother. We lift up all the prayers both spoken and unspoken and ask for your grace and mercy upon us. In your name we pray. Amen.

Fargo got himself an extra couple years out of the battery on his truck (from August of 2013), but alas, it gave out on him following the workout and even Power Wheels big truck wasn’t enough to jump it back to life. RIP Fargo’s battery.
