Introduction

9/11 is a very emotional day for much of our country.  Everyone can remember where they were when the planes crashed into our buildings, on our soil.  For me, I was a first year teacher on my way to work when the first plane struck. There was a lot of confusion and inaccuracies being reported over the radio.  I arrived to school and went to the staff lounge to actually find out there was not any inaccuracies, a plane actually struck one of the two twin towers.  I wheeled a TV into my classroom and as a class we watched history being made.  We saw the second tower get hit and a wild range of emotions took over my body, as well as my students. As time has passed the students I now teach were not even born when this tragic event occurred and they have a hard time putting this event in perspective.

The one major take away is try to think about how a New Yorker views 9/11.  Try to imagine you being the spouse that is waiting by a phone hoping to hear your M say she is safe. Try to imagine never getting that call.  Imagine having to bury a son or daughter because they went to work.  This a very heavy topic so take some time today in reflection. Take a minute to give an extra hug, read an extra story, give an extra kiss to those in your family.  Lastly, lets give thanks to all first responders that were there on the day and also to the people who serve this great nation today. God bless you all.

Warm-O-Rama

Conditions: Gloomy with a little overcast, approximately 61*.

We took a moment in silence for those that passed on the tragic day 19 years ago.

The Thang

This ride was an oyo style, meaning you can go as fast or as slow as you would like.  My thought was get rid of the lactic acid for the weeks workouts and always stay safe on the wet pavement.

Most people still busted their a$$ and got 10+ miles logged for the day.

The route:

We headed to Whalon Lake and just rode around the lake until it was time to head back.

Circle of Trust

Prayer Request: My FiL “Big Mike” & Mr. Miyagi.

Said a quick prayer and Flush also spoke during the CoT.

Naked Man Moleskin

Today is heavy day so spend some time in reflection and think about how the events of that day has changed our country. Take a minute to give an extra hug, read an extra story, give an extra kiss to those in your family.
