Introduction
This is going to be a traditional AMRAP extravaganza. Get ready to put in some sweat equity as we go into the holiday weekend. Ever wonder why I gravitate toward the color orange? It’s not just the hat. I’ve come to appreciate this color more and more. And since I don’t want to wake the neighbors, I will be at the pavilion at Iron Lion. Bring a coupon and HC in the thread.
The Scene: It was 60s and sunny at Iron Lion. I arrived with plenty of time to set up the laptop under the pavilion on a picnic table. I planted a shovel flag in the grass behind me and logged on. All PAX were ready to go by 5:15.

Lord, thank you for giving us the gift of life and the energy to get out of bed in order to better our bodies for this day. Please watch over these men and help them to become better fathers, sons and brothers to those around them. Keep them and all those they come in contact safe this weekend as we celebrate our country’s birthday. Amen.

Orange you glad you woke up early for this? It’s funny how some things just happen and then you find the meaning in them later. For example, when I started F3 it was cold and I just wore a Notre Dame knit hat, dark hoodies and I pretty much blended in with everyone else. As I started to come out more and in order for PAX to remember my name, I thought, “maybe I need a brighter hat.” I have 4 Florida orange baseball caps that my M received as part of a press junket many years ago so I thought, “I’ll be the guy in the orange hat.” I ordered the orange Carthart knit on Amazon and the rest is history.
What I didn’t realize is that the color orange has deep philosophical and metaphysical meanings. Orange symbolizes energy, vitality, cheer, excitement, adventure, warmth, and good health. Other positive meanings of orange include youthfulness, health and adventure.
The orange heart emoji is also meant to symbolize the qualities of the color orange. It is commonly used to represent love, support, and close bonds. So if you see an orange heart on Slack, chances are that I put it there.
As I move forward in life, I will strive to be more orange.
