What a super duper idea! Lets get ready for Frontline OCR with a Black Diamond OCR course!

narrator (but it wasnt a good idea.)

And you know what? Lets make it HARD!!!

narrator (again . .  not the best idea)

Ill partially set up the night before!

narrator (This is starting to consume your life WiaB. I thought you were laying off Q’ing.)

How about wearing weighted vests?!?!

narrator (even I’m getting sick of your shit WiaB.)

So LETS F’ing GO!!!

Narrator (you need to calm the F down WiaB . . . for real)

Warm-O-Rama

For me the warm up was setting up the damn course.

For everyone else it was a quick mosey through the obstacles and explaining them to the PAX before 50 minutes straight of running the course.

The Thang

OBSTACLE COURSE

Mosey to the top of the hill with coupons and leave them there. The PAX were sent off in waves of 4 at a time to space out the group of 20.

STARTING GATE

  • Tire drag sprints UP the hill
  • carry the tire back down
  • Run back up the hill to your coupon
  • do 5 blockees
  • Rifle carry/John Cusak to the east by the pavilion to a lit cone, turn around and rifle carry back to the top of the hill (in retrospect I would have the PAX lunge walk back up the hill. It was roughly 60-70 yards of rifle carry)
  • Leave coupon on the top of the hill
  • run back down to the cone by the pavilion, and continue to follow the cones
  • Jump down a 2 foot wall
  • Duck under a barrier
  • Jump up on the Octagon
  • Do 10 Big Boys
  • Do 10 merkins
  • run to football field
  • 25 pound sandbag runs to 50 yard line and back
  • Traverse rings set up on the goal posts
  • Run 100 yards to opposite goal post
  • Lateral traverse of goal post
  • Farmers carry to 50 yard line and back with Big Boy coupons (46 pounds)
  • Run to parking lot
  • Complete three tractor tire flips
  • Run back to base of hill and repeat course until 6AM

Circle of Trust

CoT is about love. Find something you love in everything you do, because that passion and love will show through and make even an unbearable task bearable. I love Qing and coming up with crazy shit like this course. I dont love not sleeping the night before, I dont love waking up at 3:30AM to set this up, but I love the completed product. No matter what you do in life, work, chores, anything . . . find something you love about it. It will result in a better product and an increased sense of satisfaction in what you have accomplished.

Prayers

Naked Man Moleskin

Holy hell what was I thinking.

30 minutes of set up the night before . . . not enough

Starting setting up at 4AM . . .  not enough

HUGE PROPS to the PAX that got there early and helped finish off the set up. House Arrest, Babyhands, Riunite, Sparkler and Desperado . . . thank you. Those fucking rings took way longer than expected.

THANK YOU to ALL participants that helped break down the course. Greatly appreciated!!

My goal here was to try and incorporate as many obstacles as I could to prepare for Frontline OCR . . . and then make it even harder for Black Diamond. I hope I accomplished this.

Random musings . . .

  • Urkel strolled in at 5:15 ish . . . . welcome to the party Cousin Eddie. 😉 But seriously thank you for making the trip! (Sparkler and Desperado were on time . . and actually EARLY and had to drive further . . . just saying)
  • Pi was doing his Q at kinda the same location, but prior DMing back and forth eliminated any potential conflict. Great coordination!
  • Gloop and Chainlink are BEASTS. They started lapping guys near the end. WTF
  • Nacho Libre completed the rings successfully while maintaining a steady stream of mumblechatter. He wont read this anyway . . . so there.
  • Desperado joined in on his SECOND WEEK and killed it at his first black diamond. Fun Fact . . . he drives in from CHICAGO for this!
  • Yugo’s first black diamond and he killed it too! Sign up for Frontline OCR brother . . . you got this.
  • Rameses originally signed up for Pi’s workout, but when he saw us gathering he mistakenly joined in. Once he started he was pot committed . . . and I hope he doesnt quit F-3 because of it. This was his first Black Diamond too  . . and he kicked ass!! I think he regretted his decision to join in . . .
  • Urban Cowboy might be part spider monkey they way he easily conquers the rings.
  • House Arrest brought a bunch of extra weighted vests. THANK YOU!
  • I didnt see Rainman, Goldberg, Nosejob or House Arrest most of the morning because they were so far ahead of me.
  • Sparkler is a freaking tank. The is doing 4 packs of Black Diamonds every week. WTF. I do one a week and think Im going to die.
  • Mr. Belding just quietly goes about kicking ass and taking names. Seriously . . . this guy is unstoppable. Not only is he “strong like bull”, he was doing an EC run with Riunite yesterday!
  • Speaking of Riunite, he is dominating F-3. Multiple rounds of 75 hard, Black Diamonds, top 5 individual finish at Lincoln Games, and one of the nicest guys you will ever meet.
  • The gnats really really suck. I almost puked when I ran through of cloud of them. And no Urban Cowboy . . . just swallowing them is fucking gross.
  • Nosejob is so quiet I almost forgot he was there. His actions speak very very loudly as he races around and dominated the course.
  • Goldberg is a funny guy. Not sure if its “Goodfellas” funny or not . . . Ill have to ponder this later today. Plus his upper arms are almost glow in the dark white. Vitamin D brother . . .  get some sun.
  • Boxcutter and Aladdin!!! Right ahead of me so I could see you all morning. Unfortunately I dont think I will see you much at Frontline as you will quickly pull ahead of me and disappear . . . I’ll keep chasing to keep up with you two beasts. Way to push!
  • Babyhands just runs around destroying obstacles like they arent there. I think this guy is secretly a terminator from the future. My unattainable goal is to keep up with him at any workout. Its good to have a guy to eternally chase I guess . . .
  • I wish I took some pictures of the course later in the morning. The view from the top of the hill looking back towards the football field was glorious.
  • No more Q’ing Black Diamonds for awhile for me. I need to participate more and get more sleep the night before so I can perform better during the workout.

I hope everyone had fun and enjoyed the course.
