Introduction

PREBLAST – BPAPORLDD-2 – Day Six We Play – @ The Blueplex – Saturday August 14, 2021 6:15 start time
@channel As another amazing week of Blue draws to a close we should take some time to reflect. So far this week we have Run, Golfed, Danced, Rucked and Burned it down. So now is time to Play. It is often said that F3 is as close to Adult recess as you can get. Well tomorrow we go all the way. Bring your dodgeball if you have one and something to act as a flag (no  you can not use your dirty workout shirt), as we’ll get our recess on. Make no mistake this will not be some kindergarten playing in the sandbox type recess. You will sweat, you will burn calories, you will roll on the ground laughing so hard you pee your pants (maybe just  on that one). SO HC in the thread below and we will see you by the bike racks at 3:30. SPECIAL NOTE – We are not meeting at the bike racks, we are meeting at Dupage River Park (Corner of Royce and Braddock) also we are not meeting at 3:30, startex is 6:15 as indicated, also we will be done in plenty of time to get to the Check Ceremony so join us for Recess at the Blueplex!!!

The Thang

Rugby Mosey to the Park (1 block)

Thang 1 – Sharks & Minnows

just like in elementary school, but with flags.

Three Rounds, somebody was last every round but everyone was a winner

Thangs 2 – If you can dodge the Bacon, You Can dodge a ball

Team freeze dodgeball/ capture the flag

The “Bacon” is placed at center court, each team is located at their respective endline. Balss are spread everywhere.

On my go, teams advance to steal the bacon and return it to their base line. However if the person with the bacon is hit with a ball they must freeze and can not throw the ball.

Others, from either team can advance to take the bacon and attempt to return it to base.

Frozen player can be unfrozen by someone crawling through their legs

— I think we palyed 3 or 4 rounds of this

Thang 3 – Rugby, played touch Rugby forlast 15 minutes, Thanks to Columbus for “Teaching” us the game.

5:58 Pick up the crap and mosey back to flag

5:59 Stargazers

Circle of Trust

After further review the COT I put in Friday was actually Saturday… I have no idea what I said Friday so here is Saturday’s again.

I was thinking yesterday about attending the funeral of a friend a few years ago. This was the house that everyone hung out at in out neighborhood. His mom was our mom, and I literally spent more time there than at my home during the summers.

When I went through the receiving line to give my condolences Mrs. T said, we still have our”Luke Bush” it just and big as can be. I had to think for a minute before I remembered what she was talking about. Many years back we were hanging around the house one Saturday while Mr. and Mrs. T where doing yardwork and I jumped in to help. We dug a hole and planted a bush. Not a big deal, at least to me. That tree become know as the Luke Tree (btw my name is Luke) because of the small but selfless act i did to help them. It is amazing how the smallest things can mean soo much to others.

I often get this in coaching. I will have a kid come up to me and say “I did what you said coach”, only to have no idea what he is talking about. I had made some offhand comment about how Little Johnny should work on something and he went home and worked all week on it.

This reminds me of a saying I have taped up above my desk ( i always get it wrong) Let my actions and and my words match my heart.

When you go out there today think about how your words and your actions will affect those around you. Do your best to be the man you want to be, the man you strive to be at all times.

Naked Man Moleskin

The bacon game was a total Shitzch Show but it was still fun.

I wish I would have leaned harder on my son to join us. He would have had fun hanging out with Kobra Kai and tenderfoot
