Introduction

:fire: Preblast :fire: – Friday 4/15 5:15am at The Complex!

Join me @channel as I make a visit to TC and explore all that it has to offer! I am still finalizing plans…mostly just waiting for Olaf to answer my DM about what his least favorite exercise is…! What I do know is that we will move around a bit, we will do some stuff with a :coupon: COUPON :coupon: (Big Boy if you got it), and we will all be happy when 6:00 is here! Let’s get ready to rock :the_horns: SYITG!

P.S. I will wear my vest if Columbus does too … LETS GO!

Got to the AO a little after 5. Got a lay of the land. Grabbed the extra coupon for Gunther. Circled up and got ready to go!

Columbus stepped up with the vest challenge (as I knew he would). So I had no choice but to join.

First song on the playlist, just to set the mood, “In Summer” from Frozen. Just for our boy Olaf!

5 core principles and disclaimer were given. Time to warm up.

It is Good Friday. There is plenty to be grateful for…today, and every day! I am grateful for an experience I had a few days ago with my oldest 2.0. He is in Kindergarten so I am getting to experience some of these fun after school events for the first time. This week was a ‘Boy’s Choice’ event. We had an outing at an escape room. We ended up being the only two in our specific room and it ended up being a ton of fun. We finished the room and ‘escaped’ with 2 minutes and 16 seconds to spare. I was sweating by the end…crazy how ‘intense’ it got. He was so excited we finished it and it truly is a highlight of my year so far.

Something I did notice though, and this is mostly just observation, was the lack of fathers there with their kids. A lot of the elementary boys were there with their moms. I KNOW for a fact that there are a ton of valid reasons why a father vs a mother would attend an event like this with their sons, (I happen to know personally of one or two specific scenarios and how they played out), but it was just slightly eye opening and something I thought I would mention to the group. TAKE ADVANTAGE of the opportunities that you have to hang out with your kids. Everyone here knows how to prioritize their daily schedules…that is why we all make it out to the gloom on a regular basis. If we can prioritize and make time for a morning beatdown, we can prioritize and make time to spend with our 2.0s. Especially when the opportunity is handed to you on a silver platter. Seize the moment men!

Disney Metal for the win! I started us off with the original rendition of “In Summer” but then we quickly got into the metal/rock covers of “Let it Go”, “Prince Ali”, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno”, etc. I enjoyed the playlist and I think some of the PAX got some joy out of it too! If the songs are going to be stuck in our heads anyways, might as well headbang to them in the process!

We had a great group of PAX of all fitness levels and everyone pretty much stuck together. My favorite type of beatdown. Great to see some of the newer guys coming out for their 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc posts. I think that means you are hooked! 😉

Always appreciate the support from the Complex boys! Till next time – BC
