Introduction

Beautiful morning near 50° and the nearly full moon did a nice job of cutting through the gloom to light up the basketball courts, which would see a little action in this run club that had a hint of March Madness. Normally a solid sleeper, I slept like crap on the eve of my VQ, so I guess that means all was as it should be!

The Thang

Run the loop on the path turning left to head to the basketball courts. On the long legs of the rectangle, run at your normal pace for a 35 minute run. On the west leg, accelerate to 80-90%. On the east leg, head to the basketball courts to shoot a free throw. If you make it, continue on your run. If not, 1 suicide (¼, ½, ¾, full court). Circle up at 5:56

Circle of Trust

Thank you all for joining me for my VQ. As I was thinking about what F3 means to me and my first Q, I recognized a theme…it’s never too late. The M and I are blessed with 2 2.0s and for years, she’s been waiting for me to come around to the idea of a 3rd 2.0. My hesitation was always that I’d be 41 at the birth, and I might not be able to throw a ball with them when they’re older. In time I realized this was in my control, and age didn’t need to be a deciding factor…it’s never too late. With amazing timing, Quarter Cart EH’d me such that my first post was on my oldest 2.0’s birthday. I joined F3 for myself, but in a way also for my family.

We’re excited to be welcoming our 3rd 2.0 in May, with a due date only days apart from my 2.0’s birthday and my F3 anniversary. Unfortunately the M’s pregnancy has challenged her with all-day nausea. That meant I wasn’t able to post as regularly for the last 7 months; I needed to be home when the 2.0’s woke up. It also meant it was very difficult to commit to a Q as posting was typically a last minute decision the night before, depending on how she thought she might feel in the morning. As her nausea started to subside a bit, there was part of me that delayed my VQ further, because it had been so long, but it’s never too late.

I want to challenge you to think of one thing that you know you should do but have been putting off. Maybe the longer you put it off, the harder it is to move forward. Maybe it’s restoring a relationship, maybe it’s health related, or maybe it’s something with your finances. Whatever it is, it’s never too late. Make a commitment and go get it!
