Introduction

In the Pre-Blast Thread for IPC last week, Rico put out a challenge to the PAX. He said … “Let’s just make every single 45 minute bootcamp difficult enough that each year IronPax comes around it’s ‘just another Wednesday’ and it ain’t no thang.”

Challenge accepted.

I got to the AO a little earlier than normal. About 5 till 5. I’ve been hitting other AO’s lately and left my house at the same time I had been without factoring in how amazingly CLOSE the Outpost is to my house. Oh well… more time to stretch and finalize my distances.

PAX rolled in…fist bump, first bump, first bump … minor issue getting my music started, but we figured it out. 5 core principles, disclaimer, mission statement, and credo recited. Let’s get warm.

I tried to make a long story short… a few weeks ago my M and I went to Boston for a wedding. It was my M’s good friend from college. This girl had been engaged years ago but a couple of weeks before the wedding, they called it off. I can only imagine the emotions running through her mind. I am sure the thoughts of letting people down and failure were part of the mix…but that is just me speculating.

She ended up going on the honeymoon but with one of her good friends. Here is the kicker…they were able to delay the honeymoon a bit because her friend was pregnant. They finally ended up going on the trip a little while later. This … this is where it gets amazing. She ended up meeting a man there. She was not looking for any relationship or to spend time with any men while there. As a matter of fact, her and her friend purposely hung out with an old grandfather that was there. Turns out the grandfather was in the country for a wedding. After chatting, they ended up meeting some of the people in town for the wedding and this is where she would meet her eventual future husband. They did not exactly hit it off right away, but after some time and a few visits to Boston to spend time together, they grew close and eventually decided to commit to each other. The wedding was beautiful, but I think this story is even more beautiful.

Out of ‘failure’ was born success. We talk about this often in F3… but honestly, treat each set back or failure as a chance to learn and do something even greater. There is a plan for all of us… just keep moving forward and seize your opportunities when they present themselves! Be ready for life’s second chances! Never give up.

It’s been 23 days since my last Q! We are so spoiled in this region with so many workout opportunities and amazing Q’s…VQ’s… IPC… It felt more important for the last three weeks to go out and support these guys rather then lead. Felt great to get back on the Q though.

I hope PAX feel I answered the call and Rico’s challenge. First Q of “Year 6” in the books!

Always my honor – Bean Counter
