Introduction

:cat::cit: Preblast – Citadel – 12/17/2020 5:15am :cit: :cat::run: All right everyone – as always lots of good options, but one great one… :run:
Nothing too fancy about this one, we are gunna run and we are gunna :fire: some calories-
Grab some shoes that can run off road, and maybe a headlight if you are so inclined…
Speaking of incline… we may venture over Mount Citadel a time or two…HC in the :thread: and let’s get after it!

Warm-O-Rama

PAX rolled in, we circled up, and YHC was glad to see that all who HCd were there, so no need to wait around.

WoR

3 SSH in cadence – yes 3. PAX were confused when the count stopped, some seemed to want to do more, and started a 4th, but YHC announced this was Run Club, we were going to Run.

We took off with a Mosey to the hill with some butt kickers and high knees along the way to loosen up, and upon arrival at the hill did just a bit of stretching to hopefully prevent any sort of injury.

10 Tappy Taps in cadence
10 Abe Vigotas in cadence

The Thang

The thang was simple – hill repeats – up and over the hill, hang a right toward the path, hang a right on the path and run to the start. Repeat as many times as possible. Around halfway through the first loop YHC realized a time to meet back at the lot wasn’t shared. DOH! After the 6th loop (5:50), YHC stopped and went backward to gather pax to head back to the lot for Mary.

The loop is about a half mile loop. YHC thinks all PAX were able to complete at least 2.5 miles, many made it 3 miles. This means 6 times over Mount Citadel. Well done.

Circle of Trust

Two verses were shared:

Luke 14:28

“suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?”

Proverbs 16:9

in their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.

Today we talked about goals and goal setting. Seems like this may be more of a new year’s thing to talk about as people make resolutions, but YHC felt it appropriate to share this before we made resolutions, so we could think of the goal, and the steps along the way. Many people make resolutions to start the year, but many fail because they do not have a plan on how to get from point A to point B. Accomplishing goals requires a bit of planning, and taking steps along the way to achieve it. Let’s be thoughtful about the goals we set for 2021 in all 3 Fs – getting to be more fit, being a better friend and having quality fellowship, and in our service to the greater community, and how we want to get there. Then, let’s rely on not just our own work, but on our Maker to help us accomplish those tasks.

Prayers were said for The Clapper’s friend who will be undergoing surgery, and a praise and thanksgiving was given for Cataract’s family member recovering from cancer.

Prayers of thanks were shared for our own strength and ability to get up and get better ITG.

PAX said an “our Father” together.

Naked Man Moleskin

YHC was grateful for the PAX that came out and supported. One of my goals is to become a better leader, and F3 has given some great examples that I can chase after. YHC is fortunate to be surrounded by a group of men who are not afraid to be thoughtful, vulnerable, servants, or be willing to kick someone in the butt to encourage them to achieve better. There are times that I am the 6, and need to be picked up, but then there are times that I can be better about picking up the 6 when I am feeling strong. This is something that can start ITG with my brothers, but something that will bleed into my family life and my work life as well.

2020 has been a challenging year, for sure, but fortunately, we have been able to pick each other up and wade through it together. We have all become stronger.
