The Thang

Thang One – Basketball Courts 

Four Corners

Usually done on a football field or area with four corners. Run to first corner, do 10 reps. Run to 2nd, 10 more reps. Run to 3rd, 10 more. Run back to start, 10 final reps.

We did merkins, squats, substituted the big boy’s with mountain climbers and monkey humpers (for Serena & BB)

Thang Two – Path towards the bridge 

Catch Me If You Can

Two partners. Partner 1 performs 5 Burpees (or 10 Diamond Merkins or X Number of Whatever the Q says), and then sprints to catch the Partner 2, who has been running backwards. Repeato until Q says stop or track lap is complete.

I went with Burpees to make sure we were GASSED and we ran from the new flag planting parking lot to the pavilion at the original OP flag planting location.

Thang Three – Rt59 Bridge 

Elevens

also written as 11s. An exercise in which you start with 1 rep of one exercise and 10 reps of another exercise, then add one additional rep to the first exercise and subtract one rep from the second. The sum must always add up to 11. Example: Elevens along the oak trees at #45MinutesofMary with Burpees and Merkins starts you with 1 Burpee and 10 Merkins at the first tree, then 2 Burpees and 9 Merkins at the second tree, then 3 and 8 etc. until you do 10 Burpees and 1 Merkin at the last tree.

I modified and did Sevens same concept. We went with Merkins on the E side of the bridge with a mosey over and Burpees on the W side of the bridge. I got to 3-4 and called recover in order to ensure a timely return.
Thang Four – Rt 59 Bridge to OP Pavilion
Bernie Sanders we’re guesstimating that was between half a mile to a 3/4 of a mile.

Naked Man Moleskin

This Q was open and I saw it as an opportunity to serve our LST Division – lol I’m a geek, I know relax..

I didn’t want to and that’s why I did it.

It was AWESOME. I don’t want the PAX thinking these are pancake workouts so I did my best to whoop em’ real nice! Most hate running and we ran. I had no plans to guard us against the rain unless there was thunder. We would embrace the suck. The rain didn’t want the smoke so it waiting to pour once we were done. Bean Counter reached out the night before to let me know he would be coming in hot from One Eye Willy’s VQ, not necessary however appreciated. Chaps was fired up and I fed off his energy. He wasn’t f-ing around. Everyone was on another gear. As I turned back from time to time to make sure we stayed together HHGregg, Shirley, Cowpie as well as Chaps and Bean Counter were all together. It was awesome to see these “non runner’s” getting AFTER IT! We clocked close to three miles. I think I officially clocked over three however I had a watch malfunction and pause my workout 10 minutes in. As time went on we were more wet, more cold and more uncomfortable. I’ve never been so excited to jump in the car and take my 2.0 to school. Excellent effort by all. As I pulled out the lot I was oozing of joy. 2/22/22. Thanks for allowing me to practice my Leadership. As they say in one of my favorite movies, “Strength & Honor.”
