Circle of Trust

Talked about Kate Fagan, the 6th grader from Sts. Peter and Paul who passed a couple weeks ago.

The 6th grade at my school wrapped the trees in teal ribbons (her favorite color) in her memory.  My son is a 6th grader at my school so he became aware of her.   We had a conversation about if he was nervous or scared of it.  I told him he probably didn’t have anything to worry about and that sometimes these things do just happen.  I also told him in regards to that to treat it as a lesson of not knowing when it’s our time “to go” so to treat everyone like it was going to be the last time that you see them.

I brought up my Step mom who has ALS.  We just found out that the last time she saw our kids was the last time she wanted the kids to see her.  Her condition has been in a pretty steep downward spiral.  At Christmas she was in a wheel chair full time and didn’t really talk alot.   She doesn’t want the kids to see her as she deteriorates.  So Christmas was probably the last time they (maybe me and my wife too) would see her alive.

The point of it all is to try and treat every day like it’s your last.  Live it to the fullest.  Make the place you are better for you having been there.  Let the people around you know you love them.

Naked Man Moleskin
