Being able to sit besides ourselves, reflect on the state of our emotion, and separate that emotion from our defining beliefs and pursuits is one of the remarkable wonders of being human and Gods creation. It is what allows us to measure our then current fitness and decide to make F3 a commitment to better ourselves. It is what allows us to keep our cool when in a provoking social environment (or at least determine to do better next time). It is what allows us to pray, to change, to measure and improve. Never let your current emotional state define who you are. Emotions help us experience the world and connect with others. They help us have empathy as well as sympathy. But choice is your greatest asset. Choose hope, choose faith.
