Introduction

🔥🛠🏃🔥PREBLAST- THE CITADEL – 3/18/21 5:15🔥🏃🛠🔥

@channel Calling all Road Runners…Join YHC at THE CITADEL as we look to put some miles on those shoes.   Due to the anticipated wet conditions, we will stay on the paved trails.  Come enhance your cardio and endurance.  Lace em up.  Come Get Some!  HC below.

I think this was my first run club Q, if not, I blocked out the previous one.  I had different plans for the run for this Q, but due to the forecast of rain all night and through the morning, I opted to keep it simple and simply do an out and back around the lake.  Going to bed the night before the Q, I was preparing myself for the worst combo in mind – cold rain and strong winds.  However, when I woke up, the rains had already made their way through, but we still had strong winds.  I could deal with that.

I showed up at The Citadel and there were some already out on EC runs. We circled up the troops and got the party started at 5:15.

Closing Remarks:

Thanks for the opportunity to lead you this morning and for all those that came out to support me and each other today and everyday.

Who would’ve thought that YHC would be Q’ing a run club.  It is a well known fact that I despise running.  However, I know that it is an area that I need to work on in order to better myself.  My first year, I don’t believe I attended a single run club. My second it I went to 2 of them, and only because it was a special VQ.  Going into my 3rd year with F3, I made it my goal to hit 20 run clubs.  I think I fell 1 or 2 short of that goal, but made some progress.  This year my goal was to hit at least 40 run clubs.  This Q will mark my 22nd run club for this F3 YR4.  I still am not a fan of running, and don’t think I ever will be, but I am seeing slow improvement in my time and endurance.

I also feel that we get better together.  I found myself picking people out during runs and had them as my target, not to pass necessarily, but to try and keep pace with.  I also recently experienced running  a few times with DJ Sump Pump, where I found my average pace to be better than it has been.  I attribute that to having someone there to push me.  For example, when I ran the 4th mile by myself it was a full 1 minute slower than when I was running with him.

Message was, to know your weakness, and put plans in place to attack them.  Get better.  Find someone a little better, faster, stronger than you and have that be your target.  Once you have put in the work and surpass them, pick another target.  The only limitations you have are those that are in your mind.

Prayers:  Prayers for Half Price’s MIL – Jenny, Carmen San Diego’s father

Final prayers offered up.

Naked Man Moleskin

It was a simple out and back around the lake today, but I can definitely say that the out was much easier than the back.  Coming back, we faced a constant 25-30mph wind, which at times felt as if I was not even moving.

Everyone crushed it today.  Keep pushing men.

Until next time.
