Circle of Trust

The F3 Credo is: Leave no man behind, but leave no man where you find him.

~ F3 doesn’t judge (get better, it’s all about your own improvement)

  • Potential FNG I’ve been trying to recruit is struggling to join, as he wants to be competitive before he comes out
    • I’ve repeatedly asked him to join, but only recently pressed him on what his obstacle to joining is
    • His obstacle is fear – fear of not being competitive / fear of being judged / fear of failure

Here’s a challenge for each of us: Go find something to fail at!

  • I started learning to play bass guitar and paint coupons
  • I’ve always respected people with musical/artistic talents, but dismissed my abilities / reasoned I was too old to start

Failure doesn’t change who you are – failure is just an outcome, which is neither negative or positive (don’t label failure as anything more than one isolated outcome).  In other words, that one failure is just an opportunity. It’s a chance to be better, to do better, to start over, to reevaluate, to practice—whatever.

Remember … “Can’t” never did a thing!

Prayer requests: All those with COVID and fearful of the uncertainty of it.

Mahatma Gandhi stated that “prayer is the very soul and essence of religion, and therefore prayer must be the very core of the life of man.” Mixed it up with a Hindu prayer:

On the absolute reality and its planes,

On that finest spiritual light,

We meditate, as remover of obstacles

That it may inspire and enlighten us.

Prayer is personal, just do it.

Naked Man Moleskin

YHC is on a mission to conquer the hills at each AO in F3 Naperville – today was Dark Tower’s turn …

IT STARTED WEIRD – Can you take a workout serious when it starts with the Winnie the Pooh theme song?  Yes, yes you can.  The warm up began with Pooh Bears (Up, Down, Touch the Ground…) – still need to see if warrants induction into the official F3 exercise library…

MOSEY TO HILL, DETOUR FOR SKUNK – An ITG hazard is the wildlife, but we avoided the skunk!

HILL WORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK – YHC was concerned if the workout would work for all.  I mean we had Curds, Baby Hands, Cupcake and Shandy out front … and we had a 6, but from the looks of it all HIMs pushed themselves and the 12 to the 6 gap wasn’t too distant (Baby Hands did ruck with 30lbs to “normalize,” but Curds eats hills for pre-breakfast!) [Baby Hands’ QSource this am helped me contextualize what happened with the 12 & the 6 (see YHC listened)!]

One call out is Magellan can sprint up a hill!  Another is that Riunite has made insane improvements in the short time he’s been out, and I can’t wait to see where he’s at in another 2-3 months.

DAWG CHECK! – Really enjoyed having Cupcake’s dog with us, which ate those hills and wanted more.  Great temperament on that dog, and it gave me great flashbacks to Noonan and his dog. (YHC said a prayer for Noonan and his family when I saw that magnificent yellow lab cruise the hill)

3:01 CAN BE A LONG TIME – The Queen song Bicycle Race played as we tried to keep up Freddie Mercurys the whole time (YHC failed, but will built in Freddie Mercurys to every workout to one day conquer that song!).  Ended it with the often-overlooked, but not today, head-to-toe stretching.

PEOPLE ARE GOOD – A fair amount of mumblechatter ITG, but it came from passersby, wondering what this group of dudes were doing.  (One woman commented on the butts facing her as she approached during our hip-hinge stretches ~ GOOD MORNING!!!) We took a photo op while Winnie the Pooh theme song played again, and another nice woman walking her dog offered to take the pic for us (She just had to see what this group was all about ~ hoping she tells her husband and brings him out … if so, his FNG name will be Winnie the Pooh!)

AAR (After Action Report) –

  • YHC needs to work on his “in cadence” cadence (thanks Baby Hands) and CoT order (jumped over Name-o-Rama, but Smalls brought YHC back on track!)
  • While I tend to let routine set in and go to Iron Lion, I love the Dark Tower – and will make it a goal to increase my visits there.  I’ll be accountable to Townie if I fall short … he’ll determine the penance …

Thanks to all!
