Introduction
Preblast 🦁🦁 IRON LION 🦁🦁 Run Club 3/6/21, 6:30-7:30am
After supporting the 3rd VQ of the week with @Seadoo at The early IL BC please join me for run club.
Tomorrow we will be running a 5k. This is the first run club I am Q’ing and will be doing another 5/8. The goal is to improve your performance over the next 2 months. No need to pick a partner to run with…hell, bring headphones if you want. This is about your performance and trying to catch the guy in front of you.
There will be plenty of time for fellowship after the run since YHC will be providing on site coffee and some tunes. There are only 2 requirements when you HC:
- Commit that you will not stop to walk at any point during the run
- Provide your 5k goal time with your HC.

Rolled in at 6:10am to a full parking lot of HIMs that already supported Seadoo’s VQ at the early IL workout. 25 degrees, sunny, no wind, perfect day for a run.

We’ve been pretty lax about having our 5 year old do some things that 5 year olds should be able to do…buckling his own seatbelt, zipper his jacket, brush his own teeth, etc. A few weeks ago I told him that he needed to be able to do all of this before we leave for spring break. He’s been hard at work trying to master these tasks and can do pretty much everything. A few days ago we were going to play outside and he zippered his jacket and said to me “that’s the 4th time I did that today…now can I go on spring break with you guys?”
This hit me like a ton of bricks. For the last few weeks, my 5 year old has been thinking that if he can’t zipper his own coat, he can’t go on vacation. Long story short, choose your words carefully when talking to your kids.
