Introduction

I somehow convinced 15 PAX to get out of bed early on a Saturday and head into a questionable BC session hosted by a rookie at the Lion. Shortly after coining a 3+1 circuit in the preblast on Friday, I scrambled to put something together that I hoped would make any sense when the the guys showed up in the morning. Lo and behold, a full body beatdown circuit was born, including coupons, tires, walls, and all. Shout out to the PAX that were willing to give this questionable thang a try.

Warm-O-Rama

I let the PAX know that the phrase “I can’t” doesn’t exist for the next 45 minutes

The Thang

After Warm-O-Rama, PAX threw their coupons over their shoulders and headed over to the HS lot, where some fun exercises were waiting for them. An easel was setup with 6 sets of exercises, with 3 exercises each. In each set, one of the exercises was marked with a +1. This meant that the exercise was to be completed as AMRAC+1. PAX were instructed to push out as many as they could and then push further.

After each set, take a lap around the lot at a 70-80% pace, then start the next set. Buddy up with pull ups if needed.

Here’s the experimental circuit:

  1. Calf Raises 50, Blockies +1, Single Arm Curls 2×25
  2. Bonnie Blares 2×25, Merkins+1, Big Boys 50
  3. Wall Sit +1, Burpees 20, Pull Ups 2×5, 
  4. Inch Worms, Shoulder Press+1, Two Man Tire Flips 10x.
  5. Shoulder Taps 2×25, Two Arm Curls+1, Lunges 2×25
  6. Goblet Squats +1, Upright Row 20x, Step Ups 100x

Circle of Trust

I shared how Thumb Drive convinced me to get out and do a Bootcamp with him at 5:15 AM. I thought he was crazy, and I was reluctant at first, but I am glad that he did. I really appreciate being around this group of HIMs that have made the choice to get out of bed, and push themselves to be better. I came up with this circuit in an attempt to make the reason for getting out of bed count, and emphasize that exercising positive thinking will help us to push our bodies past what we think our limits are. In addition, being with this group of HIMs continues to encourage me to be better for my family, my community, and myself.

I am thankful for being able to be part of this group.
