Introduction

Chilly morning -wind cutting right through. 6 showed up early for 3mile EC. Tclaps to Foundation for pushing through. That wasn’t easy.

Great to be back at the Ridge. Lot of fun stuff to do there. 25 men showed up. Lots of numbers but we had fun! Wasn’t sure how it was going to go – but let’s see!

Warm-O-Rama

SSH, Good Mornings, Hill Billies. Cut it short cause I wanted to get going.

The Thang

Thang 1 – Run with coupon to the bridge. If you drop the coupon, 5 blockees. If you drop it again, 10 blockees. If you slow down to a walk – 5 blockees. KEEP MOVING. SSH till the six is in.

Thang 2 – divide into two teams. Team 1 on the opposite side of the bridge. Line up. First PAX runs across the bridge cusak style with coupon and back. The remaining PAX do irkins. Next PAX goes when first one returns… all others just keep doing irkins. Both teams start at the same time – last one to finish owes burpees.

Team 1 won the first round (Irkins) and the Second round (Goblet squats). Team 2 did 10 penalty burpees. Then we ran back to the flags.

Mary:
100 LBC’s
50 American Hammers
2 minutes of high plank hold

Circle of Trust

CoR, Announcements, Named FNG Batgirl (he played ball for PNHS, won state last year). We also learned he’s not a virgin. Not sure if his dad knew that.

Naked Man Moleskin

Woody, Inseam, Pickleball, sludgepump, boston butt, pauligirl, dilly dilly. They showed up for this weird workout on august 29th, 2018. Here at grande park. First one.

The week prior Tourniquet and Bedpan had snuck out. One of them spilled merlot. Won’t say which one.

I highlight them, not because they’re still here, nor because some have served to plant Crossroads, nor because they’re all extremely good looking (except one of you), but to highlight that THINGS happen when men decide to get together and push themselves. To do something hard. Something outside their comfort zone.

Early morning exercises shouldn’t be the only place we do something hard. And physical work shouldn’t be the only thing we “push” ourselves to do. For many of us, we can say that marriage is the hardest thing we’ve ever done – but one of the most rewarding. Raising a child is not easy, but it’s one of the most important things we can do. Choosing not to bite back at the colleague at work, bite our tongue instead and find an encouraging word.

Often, accepting our brother, his beliefs, his differences, and choosing to support him despite how deeply divided we are – that’s hard.

We have a place now to teach us how to do these hard things. F3 is FAR more than a workout. It models life for us. It models brotherhood, respect, companionship, and teaches us how to live with one another.

One of my favorite verses in the Bible, Psalms 133:1: Behold how good and pleasant it is when brothers can dwell together in unity.

So don’t keep this to yourselves – invite someone to come out and do something hard for once.
