Introduction

I arrived about 30 mins early and was joined by Bootlegger and Goldberg. They watched me set everything and up and joked about “how easy this will be” and how they are “too cool for school”. I explained to them that stone washed jean workout jorts (jean shorts) are no longer in style. They scoffed at that idea and proceeded to prance-jog away.  Which looks exactly like you think it would.

Warm-O-Rama

Ain’t nobody got time for that. I did some yelling and we got down to business.

The Thang

Each group lasted for 5 mins Rinse and Repeat until the time is up. When it was your turn for the Infinite Indian Run you would drop what you are doing and go do that. More on that below

Round 1 — 10 narrow grip pinch curls/10 wide grip curls/ 100 feet of back peddle

Round 2 — 10 squats to coupon/25 two foot coupon jumps/100 feet of lunges

Round 3 — 5 popper merkins/10 planks knee to elbow/ 100 feet of shuffles with arms extended and parallel

Round 4– 10 upright rows with ruck/10 shoulder press(behind head)/ 100 feet of bunny hops

Round 5 — 5 diamond merkins slow/10 merkins as fast as you can/100 feet of jogging and back

Round 6 — 5 Bulgarian split squats with ruck/10 jump squats/ 100 feet of duck walk

Infinite Indian Run (IIR) –You and your partner would go do this on the side. Once you were done the next group would go. This lasted the entire time and the two man teams went through as many times as possible.

IIR – Round 1:

Partner A — Move the 25# medicine ball from cone A to cone B by only throwing it.

Partner B — Carry the 120# sandbag from cone A to cone B.

The partners then switched and returned back to cone A ( about 70 yards round trip)

IIR – Round 2:

Partner A and B — Move the 100′ length off 5″ large diameter hose from cone A to cone B and back. Hose weighs approx 120#.

Circle of Trust

I am learning guitar and it is not going well. I am terrible and it echos throughout the house. But, instead of giving up I decided to continue working on it and not hide just how terrible I am. Why? Because it teaches my family struggle.

We live in a world where you get kicked in the teeth all the time. We all struggle. As leaders, parents, and husbands we are failing those we love if we don’t teach them that struggle exist, and that it is ok to fail. We work so hard to make ourselves appear dialed in, under control, and good at everything. But that’s not real, that’s not genuine, and that shouldn’t be the expectation for life.

Let’s teach our kids that it is ok to struggle, it is ok to not be amazing, and it is ok to fail. My kids need to know that life will not be easy and that they will struggle, and that’s I struggle too. We try to make ourselves out to be superheroes and we are not. Don’t be afraid to share your failures and struggle with your children. Our goal isn’t to clear the path for them, our goal is to teach them how to navigate the path.

Naked Man Moleskin

Every single PAX crushed it today. No one mailed it in. We started off with a bunch of mumble chatter and some business about me not having posted in a long long long time. Someone may have mentioned that it was 66 days. But after that it was all business.

We started right away and wasted no time getting at it. Mumble chatter then got aggressive. There was talk about open mouth kissing, some moaning and groaning, and a lot of wheezing. It was great. The gloom was fantastic and the weather was glorious. A variety of tunes were going throughout. The hands down most popular song was Coolio’s Gangsters Paradise. It was like we were the Lisle Boys Choir reliving our glory days.

It was good. Life is good. And we will live to see another day. The good life is a process, not a state of being. It’s a direction not a destination. (Carl Rogers)

P.S. This was such a kick ass group that we may or may not have had the best coffeeteria ever. We even got to meet the coolest police officer in Lisle. If ya know, ya know.

P.S.S. – Sorry if this is underwhelming but I need more coffee.

Your homeboy,

TCB
