Introduction

“Let my people go!”  Possibly one of the greatest stories of mass beatdowns!  Hebrews building the pyramids upon their broken, tired backs; Moses leading his people out of bondage and defeating Rameses army!  What better way to show F3 fitness and leadership spirit than re-enacting “The Ten Commandments”.  Cecil B. DeMille’s masterpiece was on full display.  But, those that participated didn’t just watch or read about it, they experienced it!

Warm-O-Rama

Chazzballs(Goofballs), Abe Vigodas, Sun Gods

The Thang

Thang 1:  Egyptian chariot races.  Wheel Barrows to cone, partners switch positions, Wheel Barrow back to start. Rinse, repeat until smoked (about 3 races)

Thang 2:  Making Bricks DORA workout.  Murder Bunnies across field, leave coupon, run back.  100 Woodchoppers, 200 Squat Jumps, 300 high knees.  Run back across field, retrieve coupon, Murder Bunnies back.  (Chop the wheat, separate the straw, stomp the straw into the mud to create the mortar for the bricks.)

Thang 3:  The Exodus.  Blockee Plank Train.  Two teams lineup side-by-side holding Plank with coupon.  Rear PAX does a blockee and Rifle Carries to front of train.  Repeat until train reaches other side.  (Two teams represent the parting of the Red Sea, Rifle Carry represents the Hebrews carrying their possessions out of Egypt.)

Thang 4:  Walk Like an Egyptian.  Line up front-to-back.  Each PAX takes a deep forward lunge.  PAX in rear sprints to front.  Line switches leg lunge.  Repeat until line reaches other side of parking lot.

Mary:  Planks, Moon Gods, LBCs, Flutter Kicks, Freddie Mercuries

Circle of Trust

Moses was born a Hebrew slave, became prince of Egypt, and was then cast back down to slavery and even exiled.  He always maintained his composure no matter what position or amount of wealth he held or lacked.  No matter what ups or downs life throws at you, you are still who you are.  Advantaged or disadvantaged you are no better or lesser a human than you were or are.  Get right and serve others.

Moses was just a man.  He doubted his ability to do God’s work or to lead his people.  Moses does not possess any special powers or knowledge other than his life experiences.  He may have been chosen because he was born a Hebrew and raised among Egyptian royalty.  He even survived crossing the desert that he would eventually lead his people into.  But, Moses was just a man, just like you, just like me.  Go forth, live, experience and lead like Moses.

Naked Man Moleskin

I have seen “The Ten Commandments” practically every year since I was a kid and so I love this movie.  During this year’s viewing, my F3 senses picked up the leadership theme as well as getting great ideas for workout beatdowns.  I was so concerned about this workout’s Pre-Blast reception, but I leaned into it hard and it payed off.  I had a ton of fun leading this workout and I think the PAX had fun with it as well.  Naming Biblical characters during the Blockee Train was a nice treat!  I really appreciate how the PAX got into it as well offering up Biblical mumble chatter to motivate.  That Bible story was fun as hell!
