Introduction

Alright, men.  If you’ve been to one of my Q’s, you know what to expect.  45 minutes of non-stop work.  If you have not been to one of my Q’s, come out and experience it for yourself.  Bring those coupons.  Yep, I said it.  Coupons required.  HC in the thread.  LFG!!!

The Scene:  Low 50’s.  I arrived much earlier than I usually do as I couldn’t remember how far the baseball fields were from the parking lot.  As I approached the dugouts, I saw that there was a little sign up that said, “For game use only.  Permit required.”  That was new.  Time for plan B.  I jogged my way back and found an open field behind one of the maintenance sheds, grabbed some lighted cones and voila, instant baseball field.  My measurements were probably way off as to the actual spacing of the bases but it’ll do.

Welcome & Disclaimer given

Warm-O-Rama

SSH – IC – 4 count x 30

Triangle Taps – IC – 4 count x 20

Bring coupons to nearby cone

The Thang

THANG 1 Slingshot Farmer’s Carry (stole this from Goldberg)

Partner up – Partner 1 runs to the furthest cone and back while Partner 2 starts farmer carry in that direction.  Flapjack until coupons reach the field.

THANG 2 B.E.A.S.T BOIS DORA

Keep your partner.  Dora style thang.

B – Partner 1 – Bear Crawl to first base and back – Partner 2 – Blockees x 100 per team.  One Eye Willy made me die as he said, “I’ve never worked this hard to get to first base.”

Uncle Rico also corrected my form with the overhead press part of the blockee.  Very much appreciated.

E – Eagle’s Wings –  Lunge walk one step, overhead clap, lunge walk with other leg, overhead clap, perform 1 squat with overhead clap, repeat to second base and then back – Overhead Press x 200 per team

After everyone had done one down and back, I called an audible for time and told the PAX to mosey on the way back.

A – Alligator Walk to third base and back – Walking Merkin. Alternate stepping hands forward on successive merkin reps. You know…like an alligator walks, but with merkins. – Irkins (hands on block) x 300 per team

Bob Ross, God love him, looked like he was doing the horizontal mambo.  I showed him a modification for abs and legs but still get the shoulder/chest.

S – Sneaky Gorilla to second base and back – Facing the side, drop to a low squat and put knuckles on ground. Kick one leg out to the side in the direction you will be traveling (you’ll be in a low lateral lunge). Slide across to a lateral lunge with the other leg straight, keeping knuckles on the ground as you slide. Now spin around 180 degrees, kick the new front leg out to a lateral lunge, slide across, spin, etc.  Resembles a gorilla trying to tip-toe/sneak into a room. – Squats x 200 per team

Was checking the time and knew we wouldn’t get to everything so Blueprints said we could skip Mary and followed it up with this nugget, “We don’t do Mary.  She’s a virgin.”

T – The Lion King – x 100 per team – no movement, divide it up however you want.  Together we did 25.

Prayers

Prayers for my son, who is going through a tough time right now with eczema.  Help us find the cause and the treatment so that he can live a more normal life.

Naked Man Moleskin

Do better where you can.  The little things that you can do for those around you can have a ripple effect.  And if everyone did just a little bit more, that could add up to significant change.

AAR

Good format

BR liked doing the Lion King’s together at the end

The Slingshot mosey at the beginning was fun and different

Too much packed in

Music got shaky because I had my phone in my pocket so when I was too far away.

This is one of those workouts I’ve been tweaking.  I’ve almost got it to where I want it.

Peace,

Cousin Eddie
