Introduction

At about 4 months into F3, it was time for Dumpster Fire’s VQ!  With Halloween on the horizon, I made a frankenstein workout from a couple different posts that had memorable beatdowns.

I had the pleasure of welcoming another Webelos FNG!

The Thang

Thang #1 – Cusak Indian Walk & Mosey

Break out in 2 even groups:   Group 1 will get started with .5 mile Cusak Indian walk & mosey around the outer paved trail.  Group will do a rifle carry walk with coupon around the paved track while the last pax in line will mosey his way up to the front of the line and it will continue on until you get back to the starting point in the parking lot.   Once back to the lot, Group 1 will do a mosey lap around the parking lot while Group 2 is doing the rifle carry indian run.

Group 2 will do another mosey around the parking lot and will then go into the Cusak Indian walk & mosey until the group makes their way back to the parking lot.

Thang #2 – 11s:  Big Boys and Coupon Curls

Pax will start with 1 coupon curl then sprint to the other side of the parking lot   to do 10 big boy sit ups.  As each round goes by, less big boys and more curls, working towards 10 curls and 1 big boy sit up.

Thang #3 – Dancing with Fire

  1. Sleep Now in the Fire (3:24)
  • Three and half minutes of Imperial Walkers set to Rage Against the Machine’s Sleep Now in the Fire Increasing tempo for the final 40 seconds.
  1. Get Lucky (4:02)
  • Listen to “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk. Start and hold Tree Hugger and every time they say “get lucky” do a merkin.   Hold Tree Hugger unless doing merkins when they say “get lucky”.  (30 merkins)

3. Bring Sally Up (3:25)

  • “Flower” by Moby
  • Start in down coupon squat When the song says “Bring Sally Up” the Pax will move up in squat position “Bring Sally Down” the Pax will move back down in squat position

We stopped after these three songs and these were in reserve, pending timing.

4.  Thunderstruck (4:50)

  • Q plays “Thunderstruck” by ACDC. PAX complete 1 standard Merkinfor every “thunder!” that is heard in the song. Plank during the rest of the song. Awesome way to end a workout and just make sure any juice that’s left is burned away

5. Chumbagetup (3:31)

  • To the song, Tubthumper by Chumbawumba, start with SSH at beginning of song, then every time they say, “I get knocked down, but i get up again” you do a coupon getup. While not doing getups, you are continuously doing SSH. In the end, you will do about 27 getups.

6. Bodies Hit the Floor (3:20)

  • This is done to the song Bodies by Drowning Pool (3:21). Start in plank When the song says “Let The Bodies Hit The Floor” do a Donkey Kick(26 Total). When the song counts (1, 2, 3, 4) do a Merkin (21 Total). Always plank when not doing Donkey Kicks or Merkins and never let your Bodies Hit The Floor

We welcomed Mary Lou to his FNG post!

No prayer requests.

I’ve been so impressed at the fellowship and leadership that occurs each and every day at F3.  I encourage all of you to help out one another where you can and not be afraid to ask for help in times of need – whether it’s outreach here at F3 or elsewhere in the community.

Naked Man Moleskin

In typical Dumpster Fire fashion, I procrastinated with my VQ prep leading up to Tuesday morning and as a result I was a bit scattered in leading the morning.  I view mistakes as learning lessons and certainly learned a thang or two from my VQ.   I appreciated the in person AAR and it’ll be helpful for my next Q.  Feedback included being louder and better cadence counting. There was definitely room for improvement on both fronts.

I cut Thang #3 short by one song and could have squeezed one more in.    I panicked as we were getting close to 6am.   It was totally a rookie move!  lol

Special thanks to Wet Wipe for having my 6 and helping me through my VQ!
