Introduction
Light rain hit the gloom as PAX rolled in, Riunite (SiteQ) was the first to arrive and he came out of his ride wearing a kilt. Dude is all-in EVERY SINGLE DAY. Got to love it! We chatted about the radar and I told him I didn’t see any lightning in the radar so I drove over to the Hill to plant a 2nd shovel flag which is where we would end. A ride back to the first shovel flags followed by a quick Warm-O-Rama and movement to Thang 1 removed all weather to focus on BraveHearts…

PAX split into teams of 2, to compete. Team with most chalk marks as a team wins.

Teams tied so we had a block off at center court…Magellan vs. Chain Link for 30 seconds AMRAP…Magellan edged him by .5-1 reps! Team 1 victorious!

No count by team this time as it was to be settle on a 2 vs. 2 block off. Team 2 victories this time led by Riunite! One more round of the last 2 vs 2 block off, Team 2 advanced again. Strong effort by the PAX across the board.

Circle of Trust
Today is Bravehearts Day.
Two days ago I didn’t know it existed. I quickly learned it’s a day to honor all families dealing with pediatric cancer.
I have a brief personal story to share with you all today around this…
Two years ago I ran my first marathon at Starved Rock. There was something telling me to do it and I didn’t know why.
Then I learned a good friend of mine had a daughter with a form of neuroblastoma cancer. She was six years old at the time. There were all the pictures of this sweet girl with long golden hair and a beautiful smile…a happy young kid with a happy family in a happy home. Soon her hair disappeared as treatments began. And soon, she disappeared from all of us. At age 7 she died from cancer. A whole life ahead of her. I don’t share this story to bring anyone sorrow today or worry.
I share this to bring us all hope. In that we are capable HIM’s, that’s High Impact Men.
And all I ask is that you find a way to support a family today that is going thru battles with pediatric cancer.
It could be a reach out, a meal, just a message or even $1 dollar in the form of a donation.
Back to that marathon, I wore her name on on my shoes that day. Lauren Miller, I say her name today to give hope so we can help more kids beat whatever disease they are going thru, to know they are supported in and never forgotten in many ways. People care. This was made more real to me in simply asking people to donate on behalf of https://www.alexslemonade.org/, the charity supporting Lauren’s battle with cancer and many other kids out there.
People stepped up, and while Lauren didn’t survive, her spirit sure did, as does the spirit to help from all those people.
So whatever battles you might be going thru of you’re own, know there are kids like Lauren out there who when I looked into her eyes I didn’t see a worrier, I saw a warrior.
Take a few seconds today, look in the mirror and ask yourself do you see a worrier, or do you see a warrior.
Cause I’m looking at each of you today and I know what I see.
I see a bunch of warriors in front me. I’m proud to be out her with you gents. Getting bigger, better, stronger and also giving back.
Keep finding ways to be brave in your heart.
