Circle of Trust

This past weekend I had some time with my dad while on a ride to pick up a part he needed for his boat.  During this ride he started talking about how he should take some of his own advice.  In this case he was referring to how he constantly rides me to complete projects such as my 2 year in the making kitchen remodel, though my divorce was a big reason for the delay in that one but getting the motivation to finish it finally has taken some work.  He also had been on my case about only changing 3 out of the 6 spark plugs on my Jeep.  He’s not wrong, but he also as I pointed out previously to him has his own incomplete projects such as the bathroom he added to his basement about 8 years ago which still has no ceiling and has an extension cord for a light switch.  He wanted to apologize a bit for giving me such a hard time on things.  I mentioned to him that I had been recently reflecting on that myself with my own 2.0, Cobra Kai.  I think as fathers we always want our kids to be better than us.  We feel that it is our job to point out mistakes and flaws as our way to help make them better.  I have been recently trying to point my finger less and lead by example more.  I know I’m not perfect and I will continue to make mistakes but I am trying to consciously grow into a better leader and this group has been a big part of that transformation for me.  I have been so proud and impressed with Cobra Kai’s desire to come out and join us in the gloom since he started.  He even successfully convinced my ex-wife to allow me to pick him up on one of her days for him to come join a workout he wanted to attend.  Recently Cobra Kai even asked me if he could lead a workout which was pretty amazing for me to hear because I really have tried not to push him to attend any workouts, I just invite him and put him as an SC and give him the option of setting his alarm. However he has seen the difference it has made in me and he has seen the impact it can have on his own life.  So this coming Tuesday July 21st it is my understanding that we will have the youngest VQ with a 12 year old leading the workout right here at the Complex.

Naked Man Moleskin

TBD and Waterfall came through with some good surprise guesses on the songs and artists.  There was good mubblechatter across the group to work together as a team mentally.
