Introduction

PreBlast
PITCHERS AND CATCHERS REPORT.
Dust off the gloves and cleats if you got em and get to DT this Saturday. I’ve worked up a spring training camp with the help of my SiteQ @Aladdin that’ll get you back into midseason form.

Great weather, 40 degrees and clear, no rain as expected. So it’s GAME ON today for baseball at DT!.

Short toss
Long toss
Rolling Grounders

20/20 3 Iives
2 lines 1 at 2 opposing bases. First player throws to other base then runs to the back of the opposing line. Object of the game is to get to 20 throws. Everyone counts each throw. See how high we can get. If there’s a bad throw or a missed catch that’s 1 life for that person gone and he drops to do 3 burpees. If he loses 3 lives he runs the hill.

We got to 30 i think. Only a few pax had to run the hill. Overall BETTER THAN ANTICIPATED throwing skills!

Outfield drop step drill
I start at 3rd base with the balls, outfield is a few steps in front of me facing the plate. I yell which direction to start right or left.
The fielder will start running back in that direction by taking one step backward. Then he’ll turn his body and run to make the catch. Toss soft pop fly.

Drops were 5 bobby hurley’s.

Big league Base running
From home plate – PAX line up. Batter takes a swing with bat then run thru first look right once they pass the bag to look for the overthrow. Line up at 1st on 1st. Runner takes a lead off, 2 shuffles then run 1st to 3rd.
Then jog home.

Last 15 min – Game – 2 teams wiffle ball
Standard rules 3 outs
Hitter gets 1 swing
Strike out = 5 Merkins

Penalties for Team in field
Single = 10 SSH
Double = 10 mountain climbers
Triple = 10 lbc
HR = run the hill

Some great and not so great hitting all around. A few good plays and the best by far, an ATTEMPTED in-the-park home run by Aladdin that ended with him being tagged out at home plate. Close play!

Mary
Suicides to 100 yards
In circle 10x merkins IC
Right arm up, regular, left arm up, regular
10x more merkins IC
20x flutter kicks
20x bicycles

Circle of Trust

Thanks to everyone for coming out.   I got my inspiration today from a Q one of our PAX TBD did for FOOTBALL camp back a few months ago.  It was a lot of fun, competitive and just a different way to move and spend the hour instead of nonstop merkins.  I took the Q spot today because i was CHALLENGED.  Aladdin my siteQ said i should take it a few weeks ago and challenged me, so I put my name down.

My time playing baseball was marked with a similar challenge.  I’ve told the story before but if it hadn’t been for my uncle challenging me when i was in high school, i never would have tried out for baseball, made the team, been a part of something bigger than myself, learned to work as a team, to be a team player.  So many great things come from challenges and I want to challenge you all to find someone you can challenge in your life.  We have only self-imposed challenges and goals if nobody else gives us a push.  And knowing someone is capable of something and challenging them to do it, is sometimes the push that person needs.  Be the challenger.

Prayers for my Grandma ”Herbie” who passed away yesterday at the age of 96. She was wonderful and had an amazing life. She played baseball too. And prayers for our Neice Piper who is still battling cancer but improving every day and we have faith in God and in her recovery! Prayers for a great clear morning, for the birds, for the fresh air, for the men here who came out to take on spring training today!
