This week my M and I decided to take the kids out daycare and also take the week off of work. We did not have a particular trip planned though. We decided that we would do a “Stay-cation” this year. On Monday we went over to Two Wolves (Wolf’s Crossing Park) and then went to Chuck E Cheese. Yesterday we spent the day at Brookfield Zoo. The plan for today is to go to the Museum of Science and Industry. The point of all of this? We just want to spend some time with the kids and have some fun with them, even if just locally. I came across this quote related to vacations. The quote is:

“The tans will fade, but the memories will last forever.”

This is something that I am holding close to my heart this week. We may not be going anywhere exotic or “magical” (i.e. Disney), but our hope is to make memories that the kids will treasure for a long time. I feel like we are well on our way. I urged everyone to remember to make time for their family. Whether it be a trip, a short weekend drive, or taking a week off to just spend time together…I don’t think anyone has ever regretted taking time off work to spend MORE time with the family.

It was great to Q this morning. We had a great group of HIM who pushed themselves. When planning today’s Q I wanted to keep it straightforward while still getting in a good burn. My goal was also to isolate some muscles and keep the reps low AND difficult.

As I mentioned this morning, anytime I see Backdraft is logged on from the firehouse, it gives me great joy to call out the Coupon Bridges i.e. Alabama Prom Dates.
