Introduction

Thanks to @Face Plant, the Lion Pride is loose and ready to hunt! Come out to the Iron Lion and….

I will share the winning strategy for Lincoln Games….it’s probably not what you think.

HC below and let’s accelerate! +coupon!

Warm-O-Rama

We don’t do enough mobility…@Face Plant showed us the way yesterday….

  1. Low squat hold (1 min)
  2. Lunge hold (30s each side)
  3. Pigeon pose (30 sec each side)
  4. Standing toe touch; legs crossed; switch (20 sec each)
  5. Hip hula hoops (30 sec each direction)

Grab a partner and do a slow capri lap mosey getting to know your team mate.

The Thang

Mosey to hill

Thang #3: Hill work

Mosey to flags

Thang#4: Water balloon mary

1. 2 rows of PAX facing each other; speed to hit does not matter; if you get hit you are out; if you miss on your throw, then you are out…rd 1 out do LBC’s; rd 2 planks; rd 3 BBSU

Mary – Plank series

Circle of Trust

As promised….here are the secrets to the strategy that helped Team Wildcat win the Lincoln Games.

  1. We won as a team. We didn’t have the top scorer. We only had 3 guys in the top 20, but we had the highest level of team engagement with 22/26 guys putting points on the board. Team is more powerful than the individual
  2. We did not set the goal of winning. We focused on the process and what we could control. We encouraged each PAX to accelerate from whatever point they were at. If normally posting 2x/week, try to post 3x…if you EC 1x/week, try 2x….if you have never Q’d….step up to Q. Focus on process, what you can control, and push through self-imposed barriers. You can do more than you think.
  3. We had fun and this helped with team engagement….HALF of our points came from silly pop-up challenges like flowers, beer, pie face; as well as serious challenges like $25 donation and FMSC volunteering/homebound services. Have fun along the journey, this increases commitment and creates life-time memories that will mean more to your family, M, 2.0’s than you simply biking 50 miles. Bring them on the journey with you.

Naked Man Moleskin

The workout was meant to embody the winning principles….mosey to get to know your teammate, Dora to encourage each other helped emphasize the power of the team. Setting a goal of # of hill runs and then running together helped emphasize pushing through self-imposed barriers. Nearly every team exceeded their initial goal. PAX also tried to pace themselves to the time allowed, and picked up pace when given a “false” 2 min warning. When real 2 min warning was announced, PAX were already mostly at their initial goal. Water balloon Mary was a great example of building a little bit of fun into the workout. It was a nice way to cool down at the end of burner.
