Introduction

The scene was chilly and breezy… around 26 degrees. We began WoR and during our Capri lap, @cap came rolling in very hot. Said he almost got arrested? Not sure what actually happened.

Warm-O-Rama

Motivators – start at 6 and work our way down to 1

Tappy Taps IC x 12

Arm Circles IC x 10 forward and 10 backward

Capri lap

The Thang

Thang 1 was a multiple exercise circuit with 2 different sets of exercises and running between sets

#1 sets of 50 x 4 exercises

Carolina Dry Docks / Big Boys / Plank Jacks / Squat Jacks

Run a lap around parking lot. Extra distance for those at the front of the pack

#2 sets of 50 x 4 exercises

Balls to the wall and merkin routine (10 shoulder taps with BTTW then 10 merkins) x 5 sets or a total of 50 BTTW shoulder taps and 50 merkins

50 step up on benches and 50 squats

Run another lap around parking lot. Extra distance for front runners.

Rinse and repeat #1 and #2

Thang 2 combined with Mary

Dumbbell Manmakers – PAX form circle for Mary. Two sets of dumbbells and 2 PAX in center. The two PAX do 5 Manmakers each with the 15 lb dumbbells (merkin / right arm pull / left arm pull / up to standing position and the overhead press with the dumbells) while all other hold plank. After the first two PAX are done with Manmakers, they go back and callout a new exercise for all PAX while 2 more Pax go in center and perform 5 Manmakers each. Repeat until all PAX have completed the 5 Manmakers.

Circle of Trust

I have often said that where we want to be is in direct proportion to what we do with where we are now.
So, congratulations to all. You are here, getting up, showing up, and working hard. The question is what’s next?

We all have God given talent, but I’m a firm believer that talent won’t cut it and potential does not matter.
You can develop your talent and can unlock your potential, but you cannot train persistence. In fact, I will take persistence over talent any day.
I believe in the persistent individual’s inability to to give up or accept “no” as a definitive answer and to continue past failure.

Persistence REJECTS PROGRESS no matter the outcome.

Michael Jordan: “I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been called on to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over again in my life, and that is why I succeed.”

My Challenge to all PAX:

Congratulations on the progress you have made to date ITG. What’s next? How do you continue to progress and grow?
I challenge you each day (whether you post or not) to compete with yourself. To become a better version of you each day than you were the day before.

Naked Man Moleskin

There is a strong group of PAX that are regulars at BP and the Ridge that have now been posting for 3 to 6 months. We have experienced tremendous growth in our Naperville chapter. I think I speak for all of us when I say that we pay attention. We see things and see the veteran group of HIM’s that started this from the ground up. We are impressed! Not with just ability, talent, or growth, but rather with grit and persistence. You commit,  you show up, you do it right and go after it hard all the time. That, I believe, is what propels Naperville to the top of the Nation. Now… I also challenge you along with all the men that showed up today to wake up every morning and compete with yourself to become a better version of you than you were the day before. Whether it is a workout, or being a husband, a father, a professional, or leader in your community.
